Did you know she homeschooled me? That is a lot of work, let me tell you! And she took me to figure skating lessons, instilled a love of reading classic literature, and pushed me to go to college. Because of my mom's pushing me in a good direction, I completed my degree in Medical Transcription and can now work at home and be with my little girl. I am so thankful for that!
I thought I would share some photos from my childhood:
This is my mom, Jan. :-) When she was about my age.
And I can't leave my grandma out of this post because she's my other mother, someone who I love dearly and appreciate as well. I have wonderful memories of spending the night at her house when I was little and waking to the delightful aromas of bacon, eggs, pancakes, sausage, you name it! I love you, grandma. :-)
Yesterday was the day I celebrated Mother's Day with my mom. We got together and went to a tea store nearby - it was awesome! They had all kinds of teas, both loose-leaf and regular bags, and everything you can think of that relates to tea including tea pots, tea cozies, even vintage children's tea sets. There is even a special area where you can try three different kinds of tea (they change it every day) - you get a special tea cup as well as cookie samples! It was so much fun. My mom bought two kinds of loose-leaf tea: Creme Broulet (I have no idea how that is spelled and am too lazy to Google it, lol) and Jasmine. I didn't buy any (to my husband's disappointment), but my favorites are Oolong and Chai - yummm!
We also went to Whole Foods and ate there - no, not free samples (though we could have filled up on cheeses and olives, lol). We tried their healthy pizzas. I had no idea you could get a huge slice of pizza for such a good price! We ended up splitting one. We got two special bottled drinks and a slice of pizza each for under $7. And I was prepared to spend a lot more, lol. I guess we're both happy with simple, which is good. :-)
Oh and me? What did I get for Mother's Day? I'm glad you asked! A little card from Jaedyn and two bags of Dove dark chocolate from my husband - isn't that sweet? :-) I was thrilled, lol.

Did your husband do anything for you on your first Mother's Day ever?
What's your favorite tea?

Thank you sooo much for sharing this post! :-)

I'm all about Twinnings Irish Breakfast Tea...I drink it daily! Glad you had a great Mother's Day!
I spent a relaxing day with my hubby and kids in the yard playing and reading magazines. A far as the tea goes, I'm more of a coffee girl. :-)
What a wonderful post! :) I was home schooled too if you didn't know.
Sweet.
I hope you had a great Mother's day!
What a sweet tribute! You were a very cute baby...and I think your daughter looks like you did when you were a baby (she has those same squeezable cheeks). :)
