(last time we had a date - notice the stomach? haha)John and I got to go out alone together yesterday for the first time since before Emma was born! Long-overdue, wouldn't you say? lol Emma is finally old enough that I don't have to worry about her, plus she's weaned now - yay! I was pleasantly surprised to discover that I didn't worry one bit about her while I was gone. Course she was with my mom, who I trust implicitly. It's always good to have someone like that when you have to leave your little ones. :-)
We went to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at 11:30 a.m. and REALLY enjoyed it. It was awesome! I was definitely satisfied and glad we saw it on the big screen. I've read all the books (they're even better than the movies though I'm so glad we have both) and have been following the films since the fourth movie was released. I can't really say much more because I don't want to give anything away... it was cool to see the "kids" all grown up, I enjoyed the "romances", and although it is a dark plot there were plenty of comic relief moments. Plenty of THRILLING moments, too. *grin* Luna Lovegood is still a favorite character, and so hilarious... I want to see it again! Anyone wanna go with me???
After coming out of the dark theatre and blinking in the bright sunshine - it was FREEZING in the theatre by the way - we decided to go out to eat. We didn't get to do anything for our anniversary in June so I was determined to get a decent date out of this, lol. John jokingly suggested we go to Taco Bell. At least I hope he was joking...Anyway, we tried a Chinese place that my good friend with excellent taste recommended and It. Was. So. Good. SO GOOD!
(Sorry about the random capitalization, it's just my mood I guess, lol - too much caffeine!)
The restaurant featured a buffet. You pick from a variety of fresh veggies and raw meats and they fry them up for you - I loved that because I had exactly what I wanted. And it was PERFECT (there I go again) for my picky eater of a husband. ;-)
I chose mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, bok choy, and beef - it was excellent! They also have the regular kinds of Chinese food that we love - sweet and sour pork, chow mein, fried rice, and steamed rice. It was a feast, and we were so full after that we couldn't go back for seconds. Too bad! ;-)Oh I have to add that I saw the previews to New Moon (trailer at the link) and CAN'T WAIT!

Bless YOUR heart! Your first date in a long, long time! I love the picture of you two. You look adorable with your little baby belly. I am glad you were able to enjoy a good movie and a good meal! I could go for some yummy Chinese food right now.
I'll be waiting on seeing Harry. My husband is not remotely interested. :)

Mike and I went to Harry Potter on Thursday. We both enjoyed it a lot ; and Luna is also a favorite of ours:)

I can't wait for New Moon either. I have a 4 year old and a 5 year old and I still managed to devour all four of the Twilight books in a week (it was a sleepless week though!)

It's great to get a bit of time on your own together, isn't it? You're like me, I probably trust only my mum to take care of my kids when I have to leave them - or rather I did when they were small. My youngest is 6 now!
I'm glad you had a good time. I skipped over the paragraph about Harry Potter because we aren't going to see it in the theater (first one I will miss) and I can't take the chance of reading too much about it. :) I'm weird like that.
