It's been too long since I've participated in a Faith 'n Fiction Saturday! I missed you all! :-)
Today's Question: There are a lot of great new books being published in 2009! But which ones are you the most excited about?
What a question! There are so many... here are some (in order of release, not necessarily how much I'm looking forward to them):
I do love books that bring the bible times to life for me!

Karen Hancock is AWESOME. I am SO looking forward to this!
Karen Hancock 02/01/09 She finds a supporter in genetics researcher Cameron Reinhardt. However, Reinhardt is a favorite of the Institute's director, and she can't help wondering if he, too, is in on the cover-up. The brilliant but absentminded researcher turns out to have his own secrets, some of them dark and deadly. |
Tamera Alexander is another favorite author. :-)
Tamera Alexander 02/12/09 After years on the trail, Marshal Wyatt Caradon finds himself at a crossroads. He's brought countless men to justice, but he questions what lasting good his life has accomplished. When his path intersects that of young Robert Ashford, Wyatt glimpses himself, years ago, in the boy's pride and arrogance. He also sees a boy without a firm hand in his life. His well-meant attempt to help Robert brings him face-to-face with the one situation he never wanted to encounter--and the one woman who holds the key to helping him find his future. Set against the rich, untamed backdrop of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, The Inheritance is the first historical from WOMEN OF FAITH FICTION, and is a journey that explores the depth and breadth of a parent's love, the inherent risk in learning to trust, and the cost of laying down your life for one you love. |
I loved The Shadow of Colossus and am looking forward to this second in the series!

Ah, Jane Kirkpatrick. She has written such wonderful, can't-get-the-characters-out-of-your-head books! They are so real! Please please read one of her books! You'll have to read more. :-)

I've read a few by Siri Mitchell - this one strikes my fancy because it's a historical taking place in a Puritan community.
Siri Mitchell 05/01/09 In the small Puritan community of Stoneybrooke, Massachusetts, Susannah Phillips stands out both for her character and beauty. She wants only a simple life but soon finds herself pursued by the town's wealthiest bachelor and by a roguish military captain sent to protect them. One is not what he seems and one is more than he seems. In trying to discover true love's path, Susannah is helped by the most unlikely of allies, a wounded woman who lives invisible and ignored in their town. As the depth, passion, and sacrifice of love is revealed to Susannah, she begins to question the rules and regulations of her childhood faith. In a community where grace is unknown, what price will she pay for embracing love? |

Blessings, ~ Brandilyn
Didn't know about City of the Dead, but I so enjoyed Shadow of Colossus so I have to agree. Exposure is on mine too.
Michal, Wives of King David looks good so I see my list growing!
I may have to check out the first two books you listed...they look very good and I have never heard of the author but her books sound fascinating.
Lots of good ones on your list. Thanks for having 'The Enclave' on your list, I somehow forgot about that one.
Happy reading!
I like your list, Lindsey! Thanks for featuring my A Flickering Light and it was good to see Ted Dekker and Erin Healy's book Kiss as a featured review. Erin's been an editor for several of my books and she does know the power of story! Jane Kirkpatrick
